Product Work
When it comes to my work as a Product Manager, I specialise in creating technically solid, user-friendly, scalable products.I'm passionate about understanding how users think and ensuring exceptional user experience. At the same time, I base my decisions on data and analytics to understand user behaviour and drive engagement and growth.My background in software engineering equips me with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, making collaboration with cross-functional teams seamless. I can handle technical details and translate them into clear business requirements and designs.
In addition to my technical expertise, I have successfully launched products as a startup founder.This journey and previous senior management experience have allowed me to manage and mentor technical and product teams, refining my leadership skills. It has also given me a solid understanding of the commercial reality of building and launching products.I actively question assumptions and look for opportunities to improve the entire customer journey. As a product leader, my commitment is to use data and analytics to drive innovation and deliver products that meet and exceed customer expectations.Below is a snapshot of some of the work I am very proud of. About
I'm a people-first product and business leader with 19+ years of experience leading and working with empowered teams across various B2B and Platform industries. I'm passionate about the future of work and the role technology will play in improving our overall lives.I started my career as a software engineer at IBM before embarking on travels that led me to Australia and New Zealand. I spent 10 years between the two countries and held various senior roles in software engineering, consulting and people leadership.Most recently, I was the product led founder of a B2B SaaS Software business in HR technology. I grew that with my co-founder Ronan over seven years. During this time, I learned much about myself and what it takes to start and build a digital-led product business.I live and work with my three girls in Sligo, Ireland.
Leadership
From an early stage in my career, I was always drawn to helping others realise their potential. I get great energy from people, and forming and growing high-performing teams gives me a great sense of purpose.I've led technical, product and design teams of all shapes and sizes and developed strong leadership skills over 19 years. I invest in building strong relationships in and outside of work with people. I have a natural humility in leadership that's balanced with confidence. I've invested in and honed my communication and emotional intelligence skills. Especially when it comes to leading people remotely, I find having exceptional communication skills and an ability to empathise with others goes a long way in leadership.Working in software consulting for many years also gave me great experience and acknowledgement of the importance of building long-lasting relationships and managing diverse stakeholders.As an entrepreneur and start-up founder, I grew and led a team of very talented individuals. I got comfortable making difficult decisions along the way, navigating the highs and lows of the start-up journey but always leading with a consistent approach and vision for our business. I learnt how to build resilience during this time and the importance of looking after myself in terms of mental health and wellbeing.
